Creaing a pixel pattern in Photoshop CS2 [html]

This can be used for backgrounds on websites, or as a technique for banners.

Firstly, open up Photoshop, and create a new 3x3 pixel image.

Zoom in to the maximum level possible, and fill in the 9 square similar to this. Don't make the colour too contrasting, or the pattern won't look right.

Click edit > define > pattern. Alternatively, if you want to use your background for a website, click file > save for web. You can use the following code to make it appear as a repeating background on your website:

<style type="text/css">
<!--
body {
background-image: url(INSERT URL);
}
-->
</style>

Name your pattern.

Click Ok. Create a new document, to see what your pattern looks like enlarged.

Use your fill button, to paste your pattern. You can select it by selecting 'pattern' in the top menu, and then choosing the pattern you made.

Fill the area with your pattern.
